We Do Not Chase. Things Align Toward Us. Inside the Polaris Dominion — The Oathbound
We do not chase. Things align toward us.
This is not arrogance. It is the description of a specific state of being the Oathbound have either developed deliberately or arrived at through long self-mastery. When you are clear enough in your direction, precise enough in your values and consistent enough in your behaviour, you stop needing to pursue outcomes. Outcomes begin to orient toward you, the way iron filings orient toward a magnetic pole. The Polaris Dominion — named for the North Star, the fixed point around which everything else turns — knows this. Their power is gravitational.
The Element: Magnetism
Magnetism is the invisible force that acts across distance, drawing without touching, creating alignment without contact. The Oathbound do not need to be in the room for their presence to be felt; what they carry — certainty, consistency, gravitational authority — leaves a trace in every space they have occupied. Magnetism is the ninth element of the thirteen, and it governs the city's register of presence, authority and economic gravity.
The Creature: The Griffin
Their creature is the Griffin — part eagle, part lion, the king of the air and the king of the earth combined into a single form. Aerial perspective paired with terrestrial power; a being that belongs entirely to neither domain and commands both. The Griffin does not hunt by chasing. It holds the high ground and lets the field come to it. Their crest motto is the whole philosophy in five words: "We do not chase. The world aligns."
The Esoteric Spine: Netzach, Venus and Neptune
Their Kabbalistic node is Netzach — Victory, the Sephirah of desire, beauty and the creative force that drives all manifestation. It sits on the High Heart chakra, the centre of magnetic presence. Venus and Neptune rule them — beauty married to depth, the pairing that produces presence rather than performance. The tarot card is Strength VIII, the figure who masters force through calm; their numerology is 9, the Sage. In governance the Oathbound — internally THE AEGIS — run economic expansion and the protective side of the city, the house whose word can be trusted because it has always been kept. They belong to The Anchor Pillar with The Bloodline and The Paradox, mapped to the World of Assiah (Action).
Who Walks Through This Door
The Oathbound read as ENTJ, ENFJ, ESTJ and INTJ — the ones who lead without announcing themselves as leaders, whose position in a group becomes clear through demonstration rather than assertion, whose commitments are taken seriously because they have always honoured them. Their zodiac runs through Libra, Leo, Capricorn and Taurus: the signs of authority and permanence. Their values:
- Presence — felt before it is announced.
- Authority — earned, not claimed.
- Magnetism — alignment without pursuit.
- Inevitability — the patience of someone who knows the outcome is already theirs.
The Oathbound do not rush their outcomes. They align with them and let time finish the work.
How You Recognise This House
You recognise the Oathbound by how rarely they have to repeat themselves. Their word carries weight because it has a record behind it — promises kept, deadlines honoured, positions held even when holding them cost something. That track record becomes a kind of gravity: people bring opportunities to them rather than the other way around, because betting on someone reliable is simply a better bet. Their risk is rigidity — the same consistency that makes them trustworthy can harden into stubbornness if it is never examined. Inside Ytinu City, the nine-attribute progression system gives that presence a place to grow, weighting Charisma and Spirit, and at Level 5 a member chooses a permanent class — for the Oathbound, frequently the HERALD (Charisma and Vitality) or the CONDUIT (Mana and Charisma), the Creator archetypes built for influence that lasts. The Polaris Dominion does not hand authority to the loudest claim. It accrues to the person whose alignment has already proven itself.
The Oathbound stand against The Unyielding and The Voidwalkers — the houses of restless elevation and of pure chaos, both of which resist being held to a fixed point. Their companions are The Resonance (reach) and The Unbound (flow). The name itself is the discipline: to be oath-bound is to be bound by one's word, and it is that reliability — not noise — that gives the house its gravity.
Inside Ytinu City: The Polaris Dominion
The Oathbound hold the district called The Polaris Dominion, internally THE AEGIS. It sits in the south-western flow quadrant, part of The Tidal Expanse that runs down the city's far-west edge alongside The Unbound and The Resonance, near the Tidal Divide river. Their colour is Griffin Bronze (#5C3315); element Magnetism; creature the Griffin. On the Ytinu Accord calendar their month is Polaris — the ninth month, twenty-eight days under Virgo, August 3 to August 30, closing the Command Season. The Dominion is one of thirteen equal houses; the city's only fixed centre of coordination is Sovereign Square, held by The Architects, and the only permanent veto belongs to the Voidwalkers in the south-east Void Expanse. The Polaris Dominion is chosen once — no switching — and your Foundation Pass tier sets the discount, never the house.
Your Position, Not Your Membership
To belong to the Oathbound is not to subscribe to anything. Inside the city your Foundation Pass is a numbered position — one of only 1,000 — carrying a made-to-measure jacket cut to your house and number, a permanent seat in the Dominion, and a real voice in how the city grows. The right person does not chase this house. It aligns toward them.
