What Is the Foundation Pass and Why Does It Exist?

The Foundation Pass is your numbered position inside Ytinu City — permanent, early-adopter standing recorded on-chain. It is a stake, not a membership fee. It is not a subscription, not a loyalty card, and — importantly — it does not assign your house. You always choose your own house. The Pass is the record that you were here, and where in the founding order you stood.

The Problem It Solves

Every growing system faces the same flaw. The people who arrive early take the most risk, do the most foundational work, and develop the deepest understanding of the system's values. Yet in most community models, that early arrival is never structurally recognised. As the system grows, founders become indistinguishable from latecomers — same access, same status, same voice — while later arrivals quietly capture the benefit of the foundation early members built. The Foundation Pass closes that gap by making early belief a permanent, immutable matter of record.

That is also why it carries the name it does. It is not called the Foundation Pass for being the first product — it is named because it documents your place in the Foundation, the founding layer of Ytinu City. The 1,000 people who hold Foundation Passes hold that layer, permanently. Foundation is status, not a place; the Pass is the proof of standing within it, fixed at the moment the city was new.

The Four Tiers

There are exactly 1,000 Passes, ever, split across four tiers by number range:

  • Founding Relic (#000–#012) — 13 passes. The rarest. Each carries a unique artefact name, one per house, and these holders lead their house. 40% lifetime discount.
  • Gold (#013–#099) — 87 passes. The early committed tier. 30% lifetime discount.
  • Silver (#100–#299) — 200 passes. The founding wave. 25% lifetime discount.
  • Copper (#300–#999) — 700 passes. The broad founding layer. 20% lifetime discount.

Tier changes the discount and the rarity of your number — it does not buy you a house, a higher rank, or extra votes. The Thirteen Are Equal, and so are the people inside them. What you do in the city is earned through contribution, not purchased through tier.

The Jacket Every Pass Carries

Every Foundation Pass, in every tier, includes one guaranteed custom, made-to-measure jacket — unique to your pass number and your chosen house, made to order, never sold separately. Silver, Gold, and Founding Relic holders also receive an apparel bundle of tees, hoodies, jumpers, and a cap. All of it ships in a single delivery event, once all 1,000 passes have sold out. The clothing is not merchandise attached to the Pass; it is the physical signal of the position the Pass records — your house and your standing, made wearable.

What Holding One Actually Gives You

Beyond the discount and the jacket, a Foundation Pass carries a permanent seat in one of the 13 houses, access to the Inner Circle on Skool and the Foundation Hall on Discord, early access to drops, an early voice in the Unity Vault, and a wave price locked into history. The Pass is an ERC-721 on Base, separate from the 10,000 free Keys — the Keys are an access product, the Pass is the numbered position. Price rises each wave, from €139 at the start toward €299, so the lowest entry to the founding layer only ever exists once.

A Stake, Not a Membership — Why the Distinction Matters

The difference between a stake and a membership is not wording; it is direction. A membership is something you keep paying to maintain — stop paying and it lapses, and you leave with nothing. A stake is something you hold. It does not renew, it does not expire, and it does not depend on your continued spending to remain real. A Foundation Pass is the second kind. You acquire your position once, your number is fixed forever, and what you do afterward inside the city is earned through contribution rather than purchased through a recurring fee. This is why the Pass deliberately does not assign your house, does not buy you rank, and does not grant extra votes by tier — those would make it a hierarchy you bought into, and the Codex principle Earned Belonging Over Inherited Position forbids exactly that. The Pass marks where you stood when the city was founded. Everything past that line, you build. The 1,000 numbers are the founding ledger; the lives lived under them are not for sale.

Why 1,000

One thousand is the size of a founding layer. Small enough that every single pass is meaningful and your number genuinely means something. Large enough that the community has the breadth and diversity to generate real culture across all thirteen houses. No further Foundation Passes will ever be issued. The 1,000 are the 1,000.

Inside Ytinu City

The 13 Founding Relics map one-to-one onto the houses, and the symmetry is exact. #000 the Obsidian Guardian belongs to The Verdant (the Obsidian Order, element Earth, creature Golem, in The Deep District to the south). #012 Fenrir's Mark belongs to The Voidwalkers (the Null Dominion, element Void, creature Fenrir, in the Void Expanse to the south-east) — the house that holds the city's permanent veto. Between them sit the other eleven artefacts, one per district, from the Abyssal Tide of The Unbound in the western Tidal Expanse to the Mind Cipher of The Architects at Sovereign Square in the centre. A Founding Relic is not just the rarest tier; it is the founding artefact of an entire district, held by the person who leads that house.
